Buzz for BLT- from NY to LA

04/02/2003

New York got a sneak peek at BLT with a Q & A with Justin Lin and Roger Fan on April 1st. Those who got turned away will be able to catch BLT when it opens in New York on April 11th at the Angelika Film Center, AMC Empire 25 & Clearview Chelsea.

On April 2nd, Los Angeles got a sneak peek at BLT with a Q & A with director Justin Lin (flown straight in from NY and driven in straight from LAX!), writer Fabian Marquez, and actors John Cho and Parry Shen at the Melnitz hall at UCLA. Tomorrow, Justin will have another Q & A, this time for a USC class with Leonard Maltin. Not a student? Catch BLT when it opens next weekend on April 11th in Los Angeles at the Pacific Arclight in Hollywood, Century City 14 in West Los Angeles, and Block at Orange in Orange County. Continuing the grassroots tour, Roger Fan will be a guest at a Midwest Asian American Student Union conference this weekend in Indiana. The first midwest city to have BLT will be Chicago- with screens at the Loews Cineplex and Century 12 in Evanston.

Students at select campuses will be screening BLT:Genesis, directed by Evan Leong, a making of documentary of the obstacles and adventures of shooting BLT from set to Sundance. Evan is currently heading up the SF street team, gearing up for the SF, Berkeley and San Jose opening on April 11th- at the Van Ness 1000 AMC, Shattuck Berkeley and San Jose Camera Cinema 7.
